William “Bill” Loughrin, aged 88, of Grunthal, MB, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
He was predeceased by his brother, Donald, and his sister, Margaret.
Born October 2, 1937, in Guelph, MB, to Sam & Ellen Loughrin. He met his lovely wife Joan while attending Ryerson in Toronto. Through an invitation from his sister Margaret to attend church, Bill and Joan came to trust the Lord Jesus as their Saviour.
Running, biking, and swimming were a big part of Dad’s life. Mom and Dad were deeply involved in our lives while we were growing up. Wendy & Paul eventually qualified for the national aquatic championships, something dad was very proud of.
Dad continued hockey and softball well into his 70’s. Two years ago, we moved Dad to Manitoba, where he became even more special to our entire family.
I want to thank the family of Paul, Mavdid, and Wendy for their help and visits with Dad a week before his passing and his celebration of life. Thank you as well to all the grandkids for their many visits to Great Grandpa. Tyler and Jessica would drop whatever they were doing to help our Dad, especially by bringing Paisley, Oaklynn, Olivia, Wren, and Brooks to spend time with him.
We are grateful to the friends at Greendale for looking out for Dad, and to the doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers at St. Pierre Hospital for their compassionate care.
We love you Dad and until we meet again.
We remember the words from Mom & Dad’s favourite passage of Scripture:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future are able to separate us from the love of the Lord which is in Christ Jesus.” ~ Romans 8:38-39
The celebration of Bill’s life was held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.at Tim & Anne’s home.
