Obituary

Born March 24, 1969, Collin left us too young. His wife Darlene is comforted by knowing his other true love, his mother Gloria and his dear nephew Bailey are across the rainbow bridge to greet Uncle Bubblebutt. After a short and unexpected illness, Collin passed on June 20, 2026. The symbolism of an unexpected birth of a beautiful baby black lamb on their hobby farm the same day is not lost on us. She is named Collins.

Darlene and Collin met in 1999 and were married on September 24, 2005. To speak of Collin’s life, their loving relationship is inseparable. Their love brought joy and happiness to Collin’s life for 27 years whether it was caring for the animals on their hobby farm or adventures in Mexico. To know Collin is to understand he loved animals, loved curling, playing baseball and being an umpire, loved helping people, loved making them laugh and loved being Papa. Of all the fur babies they had Patches, Chip and Buff were his spirit animals and we know they are with him now.

Collin broke his back at age 19, so experienced pain most of his life. One of his greatest life’s accomplishments was overcoming addiction that stemmed from the pain he endured and becoming a positive force helping others as a Chaplin. He was also a member of SPN Manitoba for over 25 years.

In the last month during his illness, it is so very clear how much Collin was loved and appreciated by so many family and friends, one just needs to read his Facebook page to understand how much he was loved. Collin was Darlene’s hero – she is heartbroken but finds strength in knowing Collin is no longer in pain.

Collin did not want a service. A celebration of life will be planned for later this summer.
