Norma Gladys Koop, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by the love of her family. Norma was born on February 27, 1950, in Herbert, Saskatchewan, to Martin and Susie Broesky. She grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, kindness, and the simple joys in life – values that remained at the heart of who she was throughout her life.

Norma was a woman whose warmth and joyful spirit could brighten any room. She was known for her radiant smile, infectious laughter, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Whether sharing stories around a campfire or visiting over a fresh cup of coffee, she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and lasting memories to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, Norma treasured the life she shared with her beloved husband and best friend, Delbert. Together they enjoyed 27 wonderful years of marriage, rooted in hard work, laughter, love, and family. They built a loving blended family, embracing one another’s children as their own. Rarely apart, they found joy in life’s simple moments. Whether they were fishing side by side, tending to their gardens, or simply enjoying each other’s company, they cherished every day together.

Fishing was one of Norma’s greatest passions. More than once she proudly out-fished Delbert, earning the distinction of Master Angler on several occasions. She also had an unmistakable green thumb, and together they cultivated beautiful gardens that reflected the care and love they shared.

Her greatest joy was always her family. Norma was a devoted mother to Jason, Dana, and Corrielynn, and lovingly welcomed Stephanie and Levi into the family she and Delbert shared. She was immensely proud to watch her family grow to include eleven cherished grandchildren – Jaycee, Rylan, Carson, Jessica, Jayden, Mikayla, Abigail, Eli, Mitch, Sterling, and Sophia – and later, three precious great-grandchildren, Izayah, Amelia, and Aubrey. Nothing brought her greater happiness than having everyone together, filling the house with laughter, conversation, and love.

Gifted with both creativity and talent, Norma expressed her love through the work of her hands. An exceptional seamstress and craftsperson, she lovingly sewed clothing for her children, even making their blue jeans by hand. She also created quilts, blankets, and countless handmade treasures that will continue to wrap her family in love for generations to come.

Music was another of Norma’s many gifts. She could pick up a guitar or an accordion with ease, and with a microphone in hand she loved singing classic country songs with her siblings and anyone else who wanted to join in. Whether around a campfire or gathered with family and friends, her music, laughter, and joyful spirit created memories that will never be forgotten.

Norma will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, creativity, unwavering devotion to her family, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her legacy is not only found in the gardens she nurtured, the fish she caught, the beautiful things she created, or the songs she sang – it lives on in the love she gave so freely. Her laughter will echo around campfires, her music will live on in familiar melodies, and the kindness she shared will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Norma was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Susie Broesky, and her beloved stepson, Levi.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Delbert; her children, Jason, Dana, and Corrielynn; her stepdaughter, Stephanie; her eleven cherished grandchildren, Jaycee, Rylan, Carson, Jessica, Jayden, Mikayla, Abigail, Eli, Mitch, Sterling, and Sophia; her treasured great-grandchildren, Izayah, Amelia, and Aubrey; along with her siblings, extended family, and many dear friends.

Norma’s life was a beautiful example of love in action. She cared deeply, laughed often, sang wholeheartedly, worked tirelessly, and gave generously. Her greatest gift was making people feel welcome and loved. While her family grieves her passing, they also celebrate a life rich in faith, friendship, music, laughter, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
