Obituary

Helena Kehler, age 102, of Niverville, Manitoba, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Heritage Life Personal Care Home, Niverville, MB.

Mom married Abe Kehler on June 21, 1948. Together they had three daughters and three sons.

Mom and Dad were married for 64 years when Dad passed away in December of 2012.

They started married life in New Bothwell, Manitoba.

Esther was born in 1949. She is married to Frank Steingart. They have two sons Jeff and Trevor.

Tony was born in 1952. He is married to Anita Daman. He has two sons Shaun and Steven.

Ernie was born in 1956. He is married to Mary Doerksen and has two sons and one daughter Russell, Mark, and Mary Lou.

Marlene was born in 1960. She has two sons Jonathon and Adam.

Brenda was born in 1964. She is married to Glen Wiebe and has two sons and one daughter. Joshua, Nathan and Cynthia.

Darryl was born in 1965. He is married to Carole Rocan and has two sons and five daughters Justin, Tesslyn, Miranda, Janessa, Renae, Jayda, Shawn.

Mom and Dad moved to the dairy farm in 1967 and in 1992 they retired and moved to Steinbach.

The house was sold in 2000 and they bought a condo.

Dad became ill and passed away in 2012.

Mom stayed in the condo for another year before moving to Woodhaven.

She moved to Niverville in 2018 to the NCU Manor.

She became ill during COVID and had to undergo major surgery and so in 2021 she entered the Heritage Personal Care Home where they looked after her with great care.

She was predeceased by her husband Abram Kehler, one great-grandson and all her siblings.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.
