Obituary

With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many at Menno Home in Grunthal, Manitoba in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026, while her daughter was holding her hand. Mother is now resting in peace with her heavenly Father. We are comforted knowing she is no longer suffering.

Susanna was born to Peter and Agnes Berg on October 26, 1938, in Morris, Manitoba.

She leaves to mourn her husband John, twins Frank (Margaret) and Martha (Ken) Hiebert, son Peter (Tina), twins Henry (Lisa) and Bill, son John (Nancy), son Jake (Patti) and their families including 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also five sisters and five brothers with their families.

Mom was baptized upon the confession of her faith in Jesus in the spring of 1957 in the Kleine Gemeinde (Evangelical Mennonite Conference Church) in Quellen Colony, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Mom married our dad, John Voth, on August 15, 1965. They were married 61 years and one day.

She was predeceased by her parents, mother and father-in-law, one sister and one brother. She was also predeceased by her youngest child, daughter Mary, at the age of 3 years old.

Mom lived in Menno Home the last five years. We, the family, want to thank the staff there for all the kindness and care that was shown to her there, especially her daughter-in-law Patti, who works there. We were very privileged to have her take care of mom.

Before living there, she and dad lived in Mitchell, Manitoba for 39 years and before that in Southern Ontario for 12 years. Four in Mexico. One year in hospital before moving to Menno Home.

The funeral service for Susanna Voth will be held Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Manitoba with viewing one hour prior to the service.
