Obituary

Peacefully Nettie Ann Klassen passed away August 19, 2026 at Eastview Place in Altona at the age of 92 years.

Nettie is survived by three daughters: Diana (Don) Friesen, Marilyn Epler, Sharon (Darryl) McPherson; one son Steven; grandchildren: Tyler (Melissa), Tolan (Raelene), Pamela (Aaron), Matthew (Erin), Daniel (Crystal), Andrew (Mira), Kayla (Daniel), and Iain (Esther); great grandchildren: Cohen, Nixon, Maria, William, Reese, Lydia and Caleb.

Nettie was predeceased by her husband Willie H. Klassen and on daughter Cynthia Dale.

Over the years Nettie enjoyed curling, golfing and reading. She enjoyed watching baseball, curling and golf when she was no longer able to participate herself. When she and Willie were still on the farm, she kept a big garden and always had baking in the freezer or on the go. Even in her retirement she enjoyed baking and sharing it with her neighbors.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 2:00pm at the Kronsweide Sommerfeld Church.

A private family burial will take place prior to the funeral service at the Kronsweide Sommerfeld Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 12:00pm to 7:00pm at the Morris Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at the Gardens on 10th and Eastview Place in Altona where Mom spent the last two years. Also her caring neighbors in Morris-Noanie and Dave, Gloria and Robert, Doreen and others that helped out when needed.

And a special thank you to Mom’s adopted daughter and son Anne and Bernie who spent countless hours with mom in Altona, right until the end. We can never repay all of these wonderful angels for all they did for Mom in our Absence.
