Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynne (Gauthier) Forest, our sweet Mom, Memere, Gma, Tontinne, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Germaine, and “Ma Fwiend” at the age of 64, On September 8, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Lynne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Guy, just two short months ago. After 45 years of marriage, they were devoted to one another and simply could not imagine life apart.
Lynne lived a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, community, and countless memories that will continue to be shared for years to come.
Behind her strong personality was an incredibly generous heart. Lynne was always willing to lend a hand, whether it was to someone in her family, a friend, a neighbour, or someone in the community. She gave freely of her time and was always willing to volunteer and support local events.
Lynne was a true social butterfly. Many friendships began through her work experience at Coulombe Store and Canada Post. She loved being around people, visiting, catching up, and going from one place to the next. Her family often joked “tu savais quand elle partait, mais, tu savais jamais quand elle revenait”. A quick trip could easily turn into several hours because there was always someone she knew.
If there was music and a dance floor, you could count on Lynne to be one of the first ones on it. She loved to dance, have fun, and enjoy the moment.
Lynne found joy in many of life’s simple pleasures, including traveling, camping, golf cart rides, playing bingo, and, most of all, cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events. She was truly a jack of all trades, with a creative spirit that could be seen in so much of what she did. Whether she was helping bring a Halloween costume to life, sewing, or finding a creative way to solve a problem, Lynne was always willing to give it a try.
One of the special traditions Lynne created was making each birthday an opportunity to make her grandchildren feel loved and celebrated. Every year, she would make each of them their very own birthday dessert – a small but meaningful tradition that became a cherished expression of her love and thoughtfulness. These are the kinds of memories that will be treasured and carried on in the hearts of her family for years to come.
Lynne’s house had a revolving door, always open for a cup of coffee. Family, friends, and neighbours knew they could stop by, pull up a chair, and stay awhile. As the family’s coffee queen, Lynne loved bringing people together and making her home a place where everyone felt welcome.
The kitchen was another place where Lynne showed her love. She enjoyed baking and cooking for others and had the patience to teach those around her how to bake along the way. She loved hosting, preparing food, and filling her home with family and friends. For Lynne, a meal was never just about the food – it was about having everyone together.
Those who knew Lynne will remember her for her strength, generosity, creativity, determination, love of adventure, and unmistakable personality.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the family farm, come and go anytime after 2:00 pm. There will be an opportunity to share your favorite stories between 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Please BYOC and BYOB.
