Michel (Mike) Tetrault, a man known for his strong, quiet nature, his exceptional work ethic, and his resourcefulness, passed away on September 17, 2026 at the age of 80.
Born on March 3, 1946, in St. Malo, Manitoba, Mike was the second of nine children born to Arthur and Marie-Paule Tetrault. He worked hard; both at his job and as our family carpenter, roofer, electrician, plumber, welder, mechanic, etc, etc.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Marie-Paule; his brothers, Guy and Pierre; his sister, Nicole; as well as several in-laws, cousins, and friends. He is survived by his family who loved him deeply: his children, Monique, Marc (Sharon – deceased), and Lise (Phil), and his favourite; Lucky (his cat). He is the grandfather to Kayla, Marissa, Renee, Devin, Craig, and Jacqueline; and great-grandfather to Mason, Maxton, Grayson, Clyde, Carsyn, Logan, Peyton and Camille Michele, who was born on the same day as her great-grandpa’s passing. He is also survived by his siblings: Lina (Rene – deceased), Marcelle (Raynald), Ginette (Emile), Claire (Ronald), and Denis (Angele), along with his extended family.
The family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Meraz-Munoz and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Renal Unit, Nurse Mel of Southern Health Palliative Care and the nursing staff at the St. Pierre Hospital for their loving, practical and dedicated care.
Never one to be the centre of attention, Mike’s wishes were clear. In keeping with his nature, there will be no formal funeral service. His family will gather for a private service followed by a party to celebrate his life where beers, cheers, and probably a few tears will be shared.
Rest now Dad; see you later.
