With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Claudette Ouimet (née Robert), who passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026, at St-Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends. She was 73 years old.
Claudette is survived by her husband, Denis; her daughter, Lynne (Gilles); and her sons, Alain (Liane) and Eric (Steve). She is also remembered by her grandchildren, Joelle (James), Téo, Brie, Noah, Alek and Mikel, and her great-grandchildren, Léa and Makéo.
Claudette was born on December 11, 1952, in Morris, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Claude and Simone Robert and grew up in Aubigny alongside her siblings; Gilbert, Rhéal, Roland and Mona. At the age of 19, she married Denis and shortly after, they carved their own little paradise on the homestead in Ste Agathe. She started as a hairdresser and then became a homemaker. Once her children had grown up, her love of children brought her to work in the daycare field until her first bout with cancer. She was small in stature but a mighty force and an excellent accordion player.
Family was at the heart of Claudette’s life. Her home was a gathering place where everyone was always welcome, and she loved having her family together.
Music brought Claudette great joy, especially listening to her grandchildren play and sing together. Every family supper ended with everyone gathered around the piano, sharing songs and making memories. Those moments will remain a treasured part of her family’s life.
Claudette will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her memory will live on in every family gathering and every song shared.
The family would like to thank the southern health palliative team and the staff at the St-Boniface hospital for their compassion and care. We would also like to thank everyone who has reached out with their kind words, it’s comforting to know how loved she was.
The funeral will be held at Ste-Agathe Church on October 31, 2026, at 10:30.
