Obituary

Gaylene Dawn Paschke, was born on June 10, 1952, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and passed away on November 4, 2026, in Morris, Manitoba, after a battle with cancer.

Gaylene lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and quiet strength. She was a loving and faith-filled woman whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her. Her life was grounded in her Christian faith, and she carried that faith with her in the way she lived, served, and cared for others. Those who knew her remember her as a creative woman with a gentle spirit and a generous heart.

Gaylene attended Briercrest Bible Institute and the University of Manitoba Department of Human Ecology, where she continued to grow in knowledge and skill. She used her gifts in many ways throughout her life, always seeking to serve others with grace and humility.

She was actively involved at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Morris, where she faithfully took part in various roles. Her church family was an important part of her life, and she gave of herself in service to the Lord and to her community. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about, but something she lived out each day through kindness, commitment, and love.

Gaylene was also a skilled seamstress who found joy in creating with her hands. She enjoyed crafts and took pleasure in the beauty of making things with care and patience. She also loved to read, finding enjoyment and rest in the pages of a good book. Her creative spirit was one of her many gifts, and she shared that gift in ways that touched the lives of those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob Paschke, and by her sons, Daniel and Audrey, Jared and Danielle, Evan and Nancy, and Tobin. She also leaves behind five grandchildren who brought joy to her life, as well as her brother, Ron Zilkie. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Ruth Zilkie, whose memory remained dear to her throughout her life.

Gaylene will be remembered for her steadfast love, her deep faith, and the gentle strength with which she met life’s joys and challenges. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was a testimony to the goodness of God, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and creativity that will continue to bless those who knew her.

Though her earthly journey has ended, those who love her take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Her family and friends will cherish the memories they shared with her and give thanks for the many ways she enriched their lives. Gaylene’s example of faith and a life of grace will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her, and her memory will be held with love and gratitude.
