On September 20th our dear mother passed peacefully with family at her side, just one month short of her 99th birthday.
Bernice is survived by daughters Lonna (Wes) and Lois (Brett), granddaughters Dayna (Mike) and Signe (Roman), five great grandchildren, brother Boyd (Rita), very dear friend Harold, and many nieces and nephews.
Mother was predeceased by her husband Albert George and siblings Gordon, Mildred and Norman.
A well known community member of Dominion City, Bernice’s hands, head and heart were in music for over 85 years, playing for dances, weddings, funerals, church services and social occasions. A special time in Bernice’s life was her service in the army (C.W.A.C.) during W.W.II. She was employed at the C.I.B.C. in Dominion City for over 25 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dominion City United Church, Friday, October 27, 2017 at 1:30pm.
Mother was a life-long servant of her church, playing for services, choir directing, accompanying and bookkeeping. She was well read and enjoyed sewing, curling, politics and time with her grandchildren.
A heart-felt thanks to the many friends and relatives who supported Bernice over the last few years. Special thanks to the Emerson Care Home staff for their many kindnesses and compassion.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dominion City United Church.
