It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our caring husband, father, father-in-law, opa, brother, uncle and true friend, Carsten Kreitling on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
Carsten was born on August 13, 1961, in Brandenburg, Germany. He had a happy childhood and was spoiled by his older sister Heidi and brother Harald.
Carsten married Mona in August 1982 in Germany. They have three children. His oldest son, Mathias, was born in 1984 and his daughter, Laura, in 1991. Both immigrated with their parents to Canada in 1995. Marvis, his youngest son, was born in Manitoba in 1997. Our dad created memories that will never be forgotten.
Carsten is survived by five grandchildren. Jake 7, Kylen 6, Elena 4, Jayce 19 months and Bryler almost 3 months. Carsten was a proud Opa and showed the pictures of his grandchildren at any opportunity.
While living in Richer (East) he developed a deep friendship with his neighbours.
Carsten was a social butterfly and made friends easily. He carried his friendship over decades and was a blessing in the lives of many.
Carsten was always determined to put pride into his work. After immigrating to Manitoba, he worked as a millwright at Kitchen Craft and later for Maple Leaf. He also had his machine shop, Universal Metal Work, and met many people in his line of work.
Carsten was always precise and planned things in details. He was so devastated that his life didn’t turn out the way he had planned. He wanted to enjoy more hunting and fishing in his retirement years.
The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out with support.
In respect to Carsten’s wishes, cremation has taken place, private tributes will be held in the future.
