Obituary

Pauline Elizabeth Marie Hildebrand, 76, of Steinbach, MB., passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at her residence.

Pauline was born in Crookston, MN., to Leo and Leah (nee Fournier) Corbeil on April 11, 1945. She went to high school in Thief River Falls and graduated in 1963. She then went on and met the love of her life and married Bill on December 31, 1965, at St. Bernard’s Church in Thief River Falls. She briefly worked as a nursing assistant before going on to start a family. She spent many years raising her children, and later went on to help raise her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy. Every new baby someone had would bring her so much happiness. She truly loved babies. In her free time, she was an avid reader and she enjoyed watching the birds outside her window.

Pauline leaves behind her loving spouse of 55 years, Bill Hildebrand, 5 children: Diane Friesen, Brian Hildebrand, Laura Hildebrand, Julie Neufeld and Michael (Trish) Hildebrand; seven grandchildren: Krystal (Greg) Bergen, Maryk Reimer, Destiny Neufeld, Chantal Reimer, Kaitlyn Neufeld, Tyler Hildebrand and Andrew Hildebrand; and six great-grandchildren: Austin Bergen, Zachary Bergen, Kiera Bergen, Chloe Bergen, Shelby Penate and Emma Penate. She also leaves behind her siblings: Mary Ann Baird, Darlene Dessellier, Patsy McNitt and Dwight (Kathy) Corbeil, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Leah Corbeil and siblings Dorine (Ted) Prudhomme, Vern (Ida) Derosier, Clarence Derosier, Emery (Lou) Derosier, Maurice (Florence) Derosier and in-laws: Lavern Bakken, Charlie Bair, Alex Dessellier and Ron McNitt.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the paramedics and police officers who responded to the call.

A livestreamed funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
