Obituary

For reasons that only made sense within the complicated and carefully scripted life of Yonatan, he chose to end his story on earth earlier this week.

Yonatan (or Elliot, or Cole or, Johnny, or MJ, or ???) was an enigma who occasionally allowed a few people into a few compartments of his very private life. Those who were privileged to engage with the life and the musings of our family philosopher found their minds stretched by the ways in which his stories of life, the universe, and everything intertwined with their reality.

He cared deeply for those who were most vulnerable, and his sense of chivalry and gallantry are woven through the legends that will now encapsulate his time with us.

Although his time with other people was carefully limited to what he felt was tolerable for him, Yonatan’s philosophies, perspectives, and caring was the backstory to all of our stories and the vacuum created by his passing will be far larger than the minutes he actually took up in our lives.

On Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ridgewood EMC Church, we will come together to remember and celebrate the gifts that we received because Yonatan was a part of our lives.
