Obituary

Early on December 27, 2017, at the age of 91, Mom went to her heavenly home.

Mom (Rose Topnik) was born in Niverville on July 9, 1926. She spent much of her childhood there and in Greenwald. She was baptized August 8, 1926, and was confirmed on June 1, 1941.

Mom married our Dad, William Rempel, on October 5, 1945 and moved to Kleefeld, where they farmed for many years.

Mom loved having family over and showered them with produce and baking to take home. The weekends were always filled with visitors while Mom’s health was still good.

Mom always had a special love for babies and numerous times would care for a nephew or niece months at a time to help out. Her own children and grandchildren were the joy of her life and even in her last years, her great-grandchildren also bought her joy.

Mom had many health problems, the most debilitating being her rheumatoid arthritis, which crippled many of her joints.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: daughter Judy (Larry), son Barry (Deb); grandchildren: Tara (Harold), Joel (Natalie), Adam (Erica); great-grandchildren: Jersey & Vaughn.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Bill, sisters Etta Scheske, Nellie Rempel, Thelma Gurr, & Iris Mastaller; brothers Henry, Edwin & Alfred Topnik.

As per Mom’s wishes, a private family burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom’s memory may be made to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethesda Place and Larry Hirst. Our sincere thanks also to Pastor Terry Gudmundson & Rev. Melissa Frankland for their prayers and compassion.
