Obituary

Diedrich Gerbrand age 49 years, 4 months and 18 days of Sundown, passed away peacefully from a long-term illness on Sunday, March 20th, 2022 at Health Science Center in Winnipeg. He is survived by his beloved wife Rosi and their daughters Andrea (Corny), Julia (Nick), Cherie and Daisy, three grandchildren Laura, Michael, Noah. He will also be remembered lovingly by his siblings, brother and sister in-laws.

He was predeceased by his parents, in-laws, niece and brother in-law.

Diedrich was born to Abraham and Sarah Gerbrand in Neuwiese Paraguay on November 2nd, 1972. Growing up he worked on the family farm helping his parents and played soccer with his friends. He got baptized in 1995 then married our mom Rosi on November 25th, 1995. They were blessed with four daughters. He moved to Canada in 2007 with his wife and daughters. A couple years later he was blessed with two son-in-laws and three grandchildren. Dad was a hard-working man. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his wife and kids. He loved going camping but mostly loved going fishing.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 25th from 10:30 – a.m. 12:00 p.m. at Grunthal Bergthaler Mennonite Church.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Grunthal Bergthaler Mennonite Church with burial to follow at the Grunthal Cemetery.

If friends so desire flowers and donations are welcome. Flowers in memory of Diedrich may be sent to Grunthal Bergthaler Mennonite Church. Donations may be made out to Birchwood Funeral Chapel to help assist the family with funeral expenses.
