Audrey Purchase (nee Burnell)

Obituary

Peacefully on May 1st, 2018 Audrey Katherine Purchase went to be with her soul mate and one true love, Frederick Thomas Purchase. She passed away at the Ste. Anne Hospital at the age of 79.

Audrey was born on August 18th, 1938 to Robert and Eleanora Burnell. She married Fred on November 30th, 1957. Together they raised their three children in Headingley, Manitoba. She was a one-of-a-kind of lady who wore her heart on her sleeve and whose life revolved around her family. She was hard-working and could often be found in her garden, at the sewing machine, cooking, baking and canning. There was always a pot of coffee on and an open door for family, friends or strangers. She told it like it was and her genuine spirit will be greatly missed. No matter the test or trail that came into her life, she never lost her faith in her Lord and Savior.

Audrey is survived by her children: Dorothy (Dale), Fred (Maggie) and Doyle (Sandy); grandchildren: Scott, Danny, Jason, Julia (Frederic), Allison (Jordan), Dylan (Brittany) and Haley (Dustin); great-grandchildren: Thurston and Zoé; siblings: Joyce, Lorraine, Fran (Bill), Ray (Denise), Ruth (Norman), Dorothy (Ted) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband Fred Purchase; her granddaughter Jodi Purchase; parents: Robert and Eleanora Burnell; siblings: Herb (Kay) Burnell, Edith (Vianney) Gauthier, Gordon Burnell and Oscar Burnell; brothers-in-laws: Konrad Beck, Don Grenier and Don Purchase.

Special thanks to her nephew Jeff for helping her so she could stay in her home which was so important to her and to Drs Duval & Demoissac and all the staff at Ste. Anne hospital for taking such wonderful care of her and going beyond to make sure her granddaughter Julia got to see her later that evening.

An intimate family burial will be held at a later date.
