Kimberly Keith French, known affectionately as Kim by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 72, after a lengthy illness. Born on November 12, 1952, and lived his whole life in Dominion City. Kim was a man whose strength and kindness touched all who knew him. He drew his last breath surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Kim was an avid outdoorsman, finding peace and joy in the quietude of nature. Fishing and hunting were not just hobbies for Kim; they were a way of life that he embraced wholeheartedly. His love for the outdoors was only matched by the pride and joy he felt watching his grandkids Teagan, Logan, Kyrah, Taylor & Campbell play hockey and dance. Their achievements and milestones were the highlights of his conversations, and he never missed an opportunity to be in the rink or at a recital, cheering them on.
Family was the cornerstone of Kim’s life. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Sharon, with whom he shared a beautiful journey filled with mutual respect, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they raised two remarkable children – Kelcey (Julie), Kaylyn (Ryan), and was blessed to have a guardian angel in his daughter Adrianne. They inherited their father’s compassion, and love for life’s simple pleasures. Kim was not just a parent; he was a confidant, a mentor, and a friend to his children, guiding them with a gentle hand and an open heart.
Kim also leaves behind many memories shared with his siblings – Sherri, Maxine, Blair, and Patrick. Each of them held a special place in his life, and the bonds they forged over the years were built on a foundation of shared experiences and storytelling. Their collective laughter and support were sources of immense comfort and strength for Kim, especially during his courageous battle with illness.
As we bid farewell to Kim, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and gratitude. Though he has left our physical world, the echoes of his laughter, the wisdom of his words, and the warmth of his embrace remain with us. He was a beacon of light for his family, a steadfast friend, and a man whose legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Kim’s journey through life was marked by the love he gave and the love he received. As we gather to honor his memory, we hold onto the cherished moments he gifted us. His spirit, as enduring as the rivers he fished and the forests he walked, will continue to guide and comfort us in the days to come. We say goodbye to Kimberly Keith French, not with sorrow, but with gratitude for having been part of his remarkable life. His was a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. Rest in peace, dear Kim; your legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those you loved.
