Obituary

Karen Darlene Guse (nee Seifreit) died on Monday, August 11, 2025.

She was born on January 16th, 1943, to Elsie and Jakob Seifreit of Lydiatt in the Municipality of Brokenhead.

Karen is survived by Gerry, her husband of 60 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister, infant daughter, and her son, Jason.

In October 1964, Karen met Gerry Guse, and they were married a year later on December 5, 1965. They lived in Ontario, Winnipeg, and New Zealand, before settling in Kitchener-Waterloo. Karen worked as an administrator and in the family business. In retirement, Karen and Gerry moved to Pinawa, where they participated in the Pinawa Landing neighbourhood and in the Baha’i community. Karen volunteered with Pinawa Health Auxiliary for many years. She loved to garden and to cook. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Gerry is grateful to the outstanding health care team at Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Beausejour Community Cemetery, Beausejour, MB.
