Wilhelm was born on May 5, 1943 in Loma Plata, Paraguay to Wilhelm and Anna Froese. He was baptized in Paraguay on June 1, 1961. He immigrated to Canada on December 15, 1974. He had numerous jobs, a jack of all trades. If something was broken he would figure out a way of fixing it even if it was with duct tape. He met the love of his life on September 15, 1975. There is one to thank for that, great Uncle Pete Harms. He matched the two together, obviously seeing the same thing the Heavenly Father did, they were meant to be. Our parents were engaged on November 13, 1975, both ready to start their life together. A life that would be full of learning how to work with each other. They got married on April 17, 1976. Dad loved children, he wanted a house full of them. He was extremely excited when mom gave birth to their first daughter on November 2, 1978, Rosalyn. Dad took it hard when they experienced 2 miscarriages especially watching how it affected mom. Then finally another baby came along. A son born on June 13, 1983, David Daniel. They suffered another miscarriage, but then on November 18, 1986 a chance to fulfill a promise made long ago to his dad they had a baby girl and named her Lydia Diana. Dad had a fulfilling life with his wife and children camping, family outings, and even a trip to Alberta. Dad came to life with each grandchild born, each one special to him in their own way. These grandchildren always made him smile even up to the last day of his life. He would always smile every time his grandchildren entered the room. Each grandchild got a special name that only grandpa could call them. In July 2006, Dad had an emergency with extremely high blood pressure, we feared we would lose him. Dad fell off the roof of his house in August 2007 breaking his ankle and cracked one vertebrae. From that point on Dad never gained back full health being in pain almost constantly from that point on. Shortly after the fall, dad was diagnosed with diabetes. In October 2009, dad was rushed to the hospital with congested heart failure. His health slowly went down, he never regained full health. In December 2014, dad had another emergency which landed him in the hospital fighting for his life again, we feared we would lose him again. This time his health did not improve to place where mom could look after him anymore, so he stayed in the hospital in Steinbach and St. Pierre for a year and 2 months. On February 12, 2016, dad got his room in the Grunthal nursing home where he lived out the rest of his life.
