It is with great sadness that the family of David William Flood announces his sudden passing on November 4, 2025, at the age of 76.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Glenna; his children, Jason (Sarah), Shanda (Jon), and Adam (Dawn); his grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Zachary, Keenan, Nicholas, Karter, and Willow; his siblings, Gwen, Robyn, and Mark; and numerous other family members and friends.
David was born in London, Ontario, and was a busy man throughout his life. He worked in his high school years at a bowling alley and golf courses. In 1967, he started dating Glenna after they met at a party where he was instantly smitten. They married in 1971 and had their 3 children while he worked at Donn Canada. In 1982, he was transferred to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where the family moved to and began their next journey. This is where he eventually opened his own companies, The Ceiling Store and FloorEvery, with his wife, and then later retired from Rona.
In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf, played guitar in a band, had his pilot’s license for small planes, loved to drive his sports cars and motorcycle, and was a medic in the reserves. He loved to watch sports, especially baseball, football, and hockey, and to travel with his wife, with whom he went on many adventures. Later in life, he battled with multiple sclerosis; however, his stubbornness outweighed many barriers, and he didn’t let this slow him down. He loved to make others laugh and was a jack of all trades who was always there to help fix up anything, especially for his kids or grandkids. He loved his family fiercely, and spending time with them was his greatest joy, especially his grandkids.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
“Grief is the price we pay for love,” and he will forever be loved and missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
