Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our Dad, Ronald William Neufeld, on Thursday, November 13, 2025. In the days before being peacefully called to his heavenly home, he was surrounded by family, friends, storytelling, and so much love.

He leaves behind to mourn his daughter Ang (Ingmar) and their son Kodhi; son Jeff (Pam) and their children Austin, Gavin, Quinten and Reece; his stepchildren: daughter Amanda (Jeff) and their children Aldyn and Linkyn; daughter Kayla and her children Renae, Kade, Kierra, Danikah, and Theo; daughter Brittany and her children Jessa and Silas; son, Coltan (Megan). He also leaves to mourn his mother Mary, brother Len (Tilly), sisters Marlene (Ray), Carolyn (Rick) and sister-in-law Kathy, along with their families and many other family and friends. He joins those who have gone before him: his father William, and his brothers, Dan & Dave.

Dad was known as a happy, kind soul. He was a storyteller, and the king of cheesy dad jokes. Family and friends were very important to him, and he surrounded himself with sentimental cards and photos. The pride he felt for his kids and grandkids was evident to anyone who talked to him. He loved hanging out in the coffee shop, shooting the breeze. The shop lights stayed on until he went to bed, just in case someone wanted to stop in, and when they did, he would always offer them a cold beverage before taking a seat at his table saw. He quit drinking 6 years ago, but he liked his “near beer”, and the radio was always on a country station.

Dad worked as a finish carpenter for most of his life, and he loved his knotty pine. His shop was always open for anyone to use, and his tools were available for anyone to borrow (though you had better put them back in the right spot). He kept so many odds and ends, so if you needed a random piece of wood, a drawer guide, or a certain bolt or screw, chances are he had it… and knew where it was. Dad was always willing to lend a helping hand and his kindness and generosity touched many.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre and the Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care he received as well as to all the friends and family who visited and supported him these last few weeks. The love and comfort was felt by all.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Abundant Life Fellowship Church, Grunthal, MB., with reception to follow.

The interment will take place at Grunthal Cemetery, Grunthal, MB.
