Hank, dad, grandpa brought so much joy and laughter into our home, we never knew what his next antics were going to be. He loved farming, sunrises, nature walks, and sitting in the hot sun. All of these he missed a lot in the last years.

Hank loved the land. He farmed in West St. Paul for over 35 years. He was also a long-distance driver and loved seeing new places and faces. In 2000 he was the co-founder along with his wife Betty of the ministry, Den 205. His recent health decline began in 2023 following his colon cancer diagnosis which he overcame. He was prone to infections due to his compromised immune system, and complications led to sepsis which he never fully recovered from. On January 1, 2025, he was able to come home from the hospital and spent 10 months infection free. We are very grateful for those months and the time we spent with him. On November 2, 2025, he returned to the hospital where he remained until the Lord called him home.

The void is already deeply felt, but in time we will return to those memories and treasure them. As sad as our hearts are, we are so happy that the days of his last three years of suffering are done, and he is now experiencing his new life in the presence of Jesus.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Trachtenberg, Dr. Shaw, Dr Wiebe and rest of the renal doctors and the staff at HSC transplant clinic for the way they showed care not just for him but about him. Hank struggled with so many health issues in the last three years it would be hard to thank all the different doctors tending to him, but we are grateful for you all.

The memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., at Covenant Christian Church, 653 Knowles Ave, Winnipeg, MB.

Thank you for the many expressions of love we have experienced already.
