Dennis Herbert Rodewald, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 29, 2025, in Dominion City, Manitoba, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 15, 1952, to Dolly and Herb Rodewald (predeceased), Dennis spent his entire life as a dedicated grain farmer, a vocation that was both his calling and his passion. With his beloved wife Deborah by his side, Dennis built a life grounded in hard work and perseverance. He cared deeply for his children, Janette (Trent) and Bryan (Amy), taking pride in their paths and always wanting to support them in any way he could. One of his greatest satisfactions was knowing the farm he built would continue on through the generations. Dennis was always ready to lend a hand, or share his wisdom or a joke with those he loved, including his cherished grandchildren, Haley, Madison, Clay, Drake, Dylan, and Ethan.
Dennis was known for his friendly demeanor and optimistic outlook. His selfless nature was evident in the way he prioritized the needs of his family above all else, ensuring they were supported in every endeavor. His home was often filled with laughter and lively conversation, as he was a master at hosting gatherings, whether it was a summer barbecue or a casual evening at his well-loved downstairs bar.
Dennis’s ability to strike up a conversation with anyone made him a beloved figure far beyond his immediate circle. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will also be fondly remembered by his sister Wendy (Sean), his brothers Mark (Sabrina), Jeff (Shelley), and Tom, as well as by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friends he made throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life for Dennis is planned for December 20, 2025 at 2pm at the Dominion City Community Hall.
