Ernie Peters, age 62, of Kleefeld, Manitoba, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, following a lengthy illness, with his loving wife by his side.
Ernie was born on February 11, 1963, in the Colony Bergthal, Paraguay. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Bonnie Peters; their children Tracey Doerksen (Dwight) and their children Sadie, Liliana, and Chloe; Justin Peters (Steph); and Kyle Peters (Stacey) and their son Brooks.
He was predeceased by his parents Solomon and Rosie Peters, two sisters Anita and Grace, and two additional sisters and one brother in infancy.
For over 30 years of his career, Ernie worked as a professional truck driver, a career in which he took great pride. Ernie was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, qualities of which he has passed down to his children. In his free time, Ernie could often be found on the golf course, enjoying a good round of golf with either family or friends.
Above all else, Ernie loved his family. His greatest joy was spending time with and preparing barbecues for his wife, children, and grandchildren. No one’s barbecue will ever compare to Ernie’s lemon pepper rotisserie chicken.
Ernie was a man of strong Christian faith and lived his life guided by God’s Word. Ernie went home to be with his Lord after a life marked by faith, hard work, and deep love for his family.
The beloved family and friends of Ernie will miss him forever and take comfort knowing he is now resting in the eternal peace promised by our Lord and Savior.
The celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
A private family interment will take place.
