Obituary

Rachael Waldner (nee Stahl), age 85, of Blumenort, Manitoba, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

She is survived by her siblings Reuben, Sarah, and Lydia; and her children Racheal (Andy), Anna (Paul), Katie (Jerry), Marilyn (Ephraim), Josh Jr (Dolores), Phillip, Joe (Jennifer), Dora (Elie), and Brian (Tania); as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joshua; her daughter-in-law Debra; and her siblings Joseph, John, Anna, Katrina, Isaac, David, Susanna, and Matilda.

Rachael was born in Waldheim Hutterite Colony near Elie, MB and was the second oldest of twelve siblings. She married Joshua Waldner in October 1960 and moved to Bonhomme Colony where they had nine children together. They left the colony in 1987. She was married for 61 years before her husband passed away in 2022. Rachael was a homemaker and loved all her children. Her children and grandchildren were always welcome in her home.

Rachael will be deeply missed by her family, but they know she is at peace in heaven because of her decision to trust Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
