Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Abe Wiebe on Friday, December 26, 2025. Beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his parents John & Marie Wiebe. Three brothers: John Wiebe, Henry Wiebe, and Pete Wiebe; one sister Mary Fehr, and father-in-law Pete Peters.

He is survived by his wife Justina of 54 years. Also leaves behind one daughter Cheryl (Erwin); two sons: Russel and Douglas; four grandchildren: Dylan, Benjamin, Tiffany (Colton), and David; and many nieces and nephews and their families and many friends.

Dad worked for 35 years at Motor Coach Industries, and retired at the age of 60. He then started a small engine repair to help those who needed things fixed. He also drove for Piston Ring for awhile. Dad would give the shirt off his back. He loved to help people. Rarely did you hear him say, “No, I can’t help”.

In the last few months, he spend many days in the hospital. Dad never complained about anything. On December 25, we got together for our gathering. Dad always looked forward to our gatherings. As we were getting ready to eat our meal, Dad said “This might be my last Christmas with you”.

On December 26, 2025, Mom called at 7:40 p.m., and said Dad was not responding, so she had called the ambulance. My heart sank, I knew it wasn’t good news. Twenty minutes later, she phoned again asking to be taken to the hospital, so we took her. The doctor came and told us they worked on him for over an hour. So that evening, Dad went to his heavenly home in no more pain.

Dad, we miss you so very much and love you always.
