Obituary

“The only thing better than one CVO is two. And I got two.”

A fact that Darryl Frank Enns – said with laughter, a grin, and that unmistakable sparkle only a true biker understands.

Darryl left this world a better place on the morning of March 29th. By his side was Amy – his life partner, his best friend, and the woman he lovingly called “the greatest addition to my life.” Wherever their adventures found them – working in the bush, riding his bike, or just at home – they were always together. Side by side was where they wanted to be.

Darryl leaves behind his stepmother Hilda and Don whom he loved deeply. Brothers Ernie, of Carberry, Albert of Romania; and his sister Sandra. Darryl is predeceased by his parents Peter and Eva and sisters Doris and Cathy. Darryl is profoundly missed by his chosen family – his brother from another mother, Adam, who stood beside him through everything. Darwin, his friend of many years. The Timbit crew and a so many friends in the Fort Francis area of Ontario.

Born in Morden and raised in Carberry, Darryl began working at a young age at Carberry Transfer, the family business. He learned early what it meant to show up and work hard. Those lessons stayed with him for life. He was hard worker through and through, Darryl spent his life as a truck driver and a logger – jobs that demanded strength, skill, and endurance. He never backed down from long days, heavy loads, bad weather, or tough terrain. He believed in doing things right, doing them well, and standing behind the work he put his name on. That was simply who he was.

Darryl was noted for his “just a share” or his “just a quick story”… Both were rarely quick. He was always found striking up a conversation with just about everyone who crossed his path. Darryl had a love of people. His favorite was the little old ladies! His presence was unforgettable – felt as much as it was heard.

But the road – that’s where Darryl truly came alive.

Nothing lit him up quite like his Harley. Riding wasn’t a hobby; it was freedom, identity, and peace all rolled into one. On his bike, with the engine rumbling, his music screaming, a cigarette in his mouth and the horizon stretching endlessly ahead, the world made sense.

His passing leaves an incredible void – one felt in quiet mornings, empty roads, and moments when his voice should still be there.

Darryl will be remembered for his honesty, his strength, his loyalty, and his unmistakable presence. For the way he showed up – always. For the thunder of his CVO rolling down the highway and the spirit too big to ever fade.

Though Darryl’s ride on this earth has ended, the mark he left – the roads he traveled, the people he loved, and the lives he touched – will never disappear. His journey continues now on roads we cannot see, and we know he rides them free.

You left without warning – but you will never be gone.

A celebration of Darryl’s life will be held on June 6th at 10am at The Royal Canadian Legion located at 3584 Portage Ave in Winnipeg, MB.

At 12:00 p.m. its kick stands up… His biker family is invited to lead a ride one last time with Darryl, a final ride in his honor. His ashes will be brought home to Carberry, laid on his mom’s grave, and the rest released to the wind, just as he had wished.
