Geric was predeceased by his parents David & Hilda Penner, one brother Henry Penner (2001), and one sister Pauline Wiens (2021).
Dad was raised on a dairy farm. At the age of 18, he started work doing custom thrashing with his cousin, before coming home due to his dad’s illness. From there he got into trucking, which lasted 45 plus years and over 6 million miles. After settling down with Patsy, the babies started coming, so they purchased his parents farm and turned it into a pig farm. Between trucking and farming, Patsy and he welcomed four children.
He loved to ride his motorcycle every chance he could get. His trucking came to an end last year after some illness, right around the same time he started the house moving business with Becca and Clint. In the last year Geric had learned how to slow down and start to embrace semi-retirement, which he really started to enjoy this spring with the move to town.
He was a jack of all trades, but a master of one. He loved trucking and all the friends he met along the way.
He is gone too soon.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
