It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Florence Torcutti on June 25, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on September 17, 1934, in La Broquerie Manitoba. Florence lived a life defined by love, compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. On April 24, 1965, she married Domenico Torcutti. After they married, they settled in La Broquerie where they raised their children Roberto and Marina.
Florence had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and her kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her, which is why she excelled in her teaching career for 32 years, 26 of those were in La Broquerie. She taught by example, showing the importance of unconditional love, hard work, and compassion. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched in countless students, the values she instilled, and the cherished memories she leaves behind.
Those who knew Florence will remember her as the adventurous, dare devil in her early twenties where she was told she would not have the nerve to go skydiving, so she proved them wrong and jumped 7-8 times. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, wonderful sense of humor, all her wisdom and her strong faith. Throughout her life, Florence found happiness in her family, faith, and friends. She approached every moment with generosity, grace, and a smile that brightened the lives of those around her. After the loss of her husband she moved into the Chalet where she enjoyed hosting the bible study group The Petite Communaute bringing joy to everyone who participated and for herself because she was teaching again.
Florence was our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children Roberto (Faye), Marina (Ed) grandchildren, Dante (Carley) Darcy, Dylan (Hannah) Dawson, and great granddaughter Francesca, her siblings Louis, Jean, Jules, Yvette, Claude, and in-laws Zia Marcella, Zio Mario, Zia Nilda along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Domenico, and numerous siblings whose memories she carried in her heart throughout her life.
Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we are deeply grateful for the years we shared with Mom. Her love will remain a guiding light for her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed every day.
The funeral for Florence Torcutti will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Paroisse Sainte-Joachim (101 Principal St.), La Broquerie, Manitoba. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of a life so beautifully lived.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
