Rebecca Hofer passed away at Morris General Hospital, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the age of 95 years.
Rebecca Hofer was born on May 28, 1931, in Rosedale Colony to her parents Samuel & Rebecca Hofer. In 1934, the family moved to Elm River Colony and in 1964 she and the family moved to Rainbow Colony.
She grew up in the colony surrounded by family and community, where she learned the values of faith, hard work, and caring for others. Throughout her life she remained devoted to her family and her community, and her gentle and faithful spirit was appreciated by all who knew her.
Rebecca lived a quiet life of service and dedication. She was known for her kindness, her patience, and her willingness to help wherever she was needed. Whether in the home, helping care for family members, or supporting the life of the colony, she carried out her responsibilities faithfully. Her life reflected humility, strong faith, and a deep love for those around her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Rebecca Hofer, her family Samuel (Elizabeth), Jonathan (Mary), Cornelius (Lydia), and Thomas, Ruth, Aaron and Susanna in infancy. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Rev. Elias Waldner, her nephews Sam Hofer, James Hofer, and Sammy Hofer, and her nieces Lisa Stahl, and Miriam Hofer.
Left to mourn her passing are her beloved siblings: sisters Susie Waldner, Mary Hofer, and Linda Hofer-Wollmann (Andrew Wollmann); and brothers Jacob Hofer and Hardy Hofer; and sister-in-law Rebecca Hofer. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends who will remember her with love and gratitude.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.
