After a brief battle with cancer, Donna Lynn Palmer passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach MB. Donna slipped away peacefully with husband Bob by her side. Thank you to staff in several hospitals who provided such compassionate care over the past few months.
Donna leaves behind her husband Bob, son Timothy, his wife Tanya, and daughter Sarah, her husband Justin, and a total of five grandchildren, as well as sister Dianne Hall and brother Doug Turner. She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Gladys Turner.
Donna was born October 15, 1955 in Lynn Lake, MB and grew up in The Pas, MB. She was active in figure skating and softball, and was a cheerleader at Margaret Barbour Collegiate. Her and Bob were married in The Pas in 1976, and they lived in Winnipeg for many years. After Bob’s retirement they spent summers at their St. Malo cottage where Donna loved tending her flower garden and watching birds at the feeder.
Donna was a member of the Royal Purple of Canada, rising to the position of Provincial President, then became a member of the Elks of Canada where she also served as Provincial President. Donna was passionate about the charity work in both the Elks and Royal Purple organizations, but her greatest joy in life was being Grandma and sharing hugs with her wonderful, loving grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held sometime this fall.
Rest in Peace, Donna.
