Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of Richard J. Robert announces his peaceful passing on August 8, 2026, at Red River Valley Lodge, at the age of 81.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janet (née Pardoski); his children, Rachel (Alain), Jolene, and Richard (Ashleigh); and his grandchildren, Alex (Rachel), Ashton, Rheanne (Jessy), Kai, Danica, Aiden, and Wilder. He will also be fondly remembered by his siblings Leo (Diane), Aurèle (Regina), Mariette (Denis), Don (Claudette), Corinne, Lise, Michelle (Bruce), Nicole (Wade), and Angèle; his sister-in-law Sharon; his brother-in-law Robert (Liane) Pardoski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Marius and Lorraine (née Hebert) Robert; his in-laws, Joseph and Peggy (née Brown) Pardoski; his brothers Lionel and Maurice Robert; his sister-in-law Debbie Robert; niece Dawn-Marie; and brothers-in-law George Leclair and Ken Nash.

Richard enjoyed the simple things in life and was happiest when he was surrounded by the people and things he loved. He had a lifelong love of trucking, boating, camping and fishing, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren. Whether enjoying time outdoors, sharing stories, or simply being together with family, these were the moments that meant the most to him.

Those who knew Richard will remember his warm personality, his sense of humour and, of course, his unmistakable smile. He leaves behind many memories that will continue to be shared by his family and friends for years to come.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Red River Valley Lodge for the wonderful care, kindness and compassion shown to Richard and his family. They would also like to thank the many friends and family members who visited Richard during his years at the Lodge. Your visits, friendship and support meant a great deal to him and to his family.

A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cheyenne Park in Ste. Agathe, Manitoba. Family and friends are invited to gather together to remember Richard and celebrate a life well lived.

Rest peacefully, Richard. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
