Obituary

Donavon Anthony Storm Penner, 32, of Winnipeg, MB., passed away suddenly following an accident at work, surrounded by his loved ones, on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

He is survived by his mother Rebecca Penner, brother Harley Penner & Jessie (nieces Mia & Hartley; nephews Levi & Gideon); brother Joshua Delaronde & Emily (niece Layla); and girlfriend Brenda.

He was predeceased by his father Marc Anthony Penner, grandfather Ernie Joseph Delaronde, grandmother Mardy Klassen, great-grandfather Normand Delaronde, great-grandmother Adele Delaronde, Grandparents Pete & Lydia Penner, great aunt & uncle Mary & Milton Allison, and cousin Brad Allison.

Donavon, a man whose spirit glowed bright, who had a kind and caring and loving heart. When he loved… he loved deeply. He loved and cherished family unconditionally with compassion, concern, always there to give a helping hand. He was loyal and protective of all he loved and cared about.

Donavon was so excited with his new job. He had excitement in his voice and shared this proudly. He worked hard and things were looking up.

Donavon loved his sports – be it football, hockey, baseball or basketball. Anyone that knows this will chuckle and remember how he was big in regards to his Sports Select.

Donavon was also very passionate about karaoke.

Though sadly too soon taken, he will leave a legacy of such high honour with his gift of life (both lungs, both kidneys and liver).

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with ash interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
