On January 11, 2014, shortly before 9:30pm, Parkland RCMP responded to a report of a collision on a snowmobile trail near Rainbow Beach in the RM of Ochre River.
Police say that the two-vehicle collision occurred on the trail. One male, 28, was pronounced deceased. A second male, 27, was transported to Winnipeg hospital and remains in stable condition.
Alcohol is considered to be a factor in this collision and an RCMP traffic reconstructionist is investigating.
