This will be the 10th year that tons of clothing and hundreds of hampers will be given away at Southland Church’s annual Food and Clothing Drive in Steinbach.

The event takes place on October 16, 2015 and it is free to everyone. “Our goal is to help people in need and to bless and encourage others as God has blessed us,” explains Grace Hiebert, one of the organizers for the event. “No one is turned away. This is for everyone.”

Each person or family who attends will be supplied with large bags to fill with clothing for men, women and children of all sizes, shoes, winter jackets, snowsuits, boots, bedding, house hold items and even toys. Hampers are also given out. Hiebert notes that every family who wants a hamper will receive one. All of the clothing and food for the hampers has been donated by people that attend Southland Church.

We expect to give away over 1,200 hampers this year. Around 2,000 people came out last year from the Steinbach area and from many other parts of Manitoba. It’s great to be able to help so many people and we are praying that even more will come out this year. ~ Grace Hiebert

The Southland Food and Clothing Drive will take place this year at Southland Church, Highway 52 West in Steinbach, on Friday, October 16, 2015, between 9am and 7pm.
