Portage la Prairie General Investigative Section is reporting that numerous arrests have been made after recently seizing a quantity of drugs and firearms during a search of a local residence.

Officers with the Portage la Prairie General Investigative Section (GIS), as a result of an ongoing investigation, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Mobile Street in Portage la Prairie.

As a result of the search, officers seized a quantity of drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, firearms, cash and drug-related paraphernalia.

RCMP report that 28-year-old Tori Webb from Portage, along with 27-year-old Preston Whitford from the RM of Alonsa were arrested and face multiple charges in connection to this incident.

Officers returned to the residence to locate the property owner. Once at the scene, they observed an unregistered vehicle parked outside the residence. Police noted that the 31-year-old female in the driver’s seat was prohibited from driving. Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle and located a loaded sawed-off firearm underneath the driver’s seat.

After further investigation, police arrested the woman and remanded her into custody and is scheduled for a future court appearance in Portage la Prairie. The 55-year-old male property owner, from Portage la Prairie, was also arrested. He was released and awaits a court appearance in Portage la Prairie.
