Powerview RCMP are reporting that a recent traffic stop in the community has led to the seizure of weapons and an arrest of a local area man.
On February 4, 2023, at approximately 12:05am, Powerview RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Powerview-Pine Falls.
As a result of the traffic stop, open liquor was seen in the vehicle and the driver was asked to provide a sample of his breath, which he refused. Police subsequently searched the vehicle and seized of a small quantity of drugs, bear spray, brass knuckles, a machete, batons and a conducted energy weapon.
RCMP report that the driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old male from Powerview-Pine Falls, was arrested and is facing numerous charges related to this incident.
