Manitoba RCMP are reporting that a quantity of drugs and cash were recently seized at a residence located in Ebb and Flow First Nation. The incident resulted in numerous arrests and charges being laid.

As the result of an ongoing investigation, officers from the Ste-Rose du Lac RCMP, along with assistance from the Manitoba West District CREST unit and Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a residence located in Ebb and Flow First Nation.

During the search, officers seized pre-packaged cocaine, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, prepaid credit cards, firearms, ammunition, cash and drug related paraphernalia. Subsequently, officers arrested seven suspects, four of which were later released without charge.

RCMP report that 39-year-old Brian Houle from Ebb and Flow First Nation, along with 42-year-old Connie Malcolm from Bacon Ridge are now facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, as well as several firearms-related offences. Both suspects were later released from police custody for a future court date in Dauphin.

Police say that a 29-year-old Denee Baptiste, from Ebb and Flow First Nation, was found to have an outstanding warrant of arrest for a breach of a conditional sentence order. Baptiste was later remanded into custody.

Manitoba RCMP say that they are committed to working with First Nation communities that have asked to make drug enforcement a priority. Enforcement actions will continue as per the expressed wishes of community leadership.
