Steinbach RCMP are reporting that as the result of a recent police investigation, officers were able to seize multiple firearms, unstamped cigarettes and stolen goods from two properties located in Zhoda, Manitoba.
On October 24, 2025, Steinbach RCMP began an investigation involving firearms and stolen property in Zhoda, Manitoba. On October 28, Steinbach RCMP, along with the Manitoba RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST), East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Team (CREST) and the Ste. Anne Police department, executed search warrants on two properties in Zhoda.
As a result of the search, police seized over 10 firearms, hundreds of ammunitions, and over 40 cartons of unstamped cigarettes. They also recovered stolen property, including a hydraulic press worth approximately $6,000, and a tow behind generator worth approximately $7,000. Both were buried in mud next to each other on the property.
Police say that the hydraulic press had been stolen from a jobsite on Provincial Road 203, near Badger in the RM of Piney. The incident occurred in October of 2025 and belonged to a business located in Steinbach. The generator had been reported stolen from Monominto Road in the RM of Springfield in January of 2024. Some of the firearms seized had been stolen after two residential break and enters in March of 2011 in the RM of DeSalaberry and in July of 2022 in Pansy.
RCMP report that two females from Zhoda, ages 35 and 69, were arrested and released with a future court date. 42-year-old Terrence Broesky, also from Zhoda, was arrested and remanded into custody and will be facing numerous theft and firearms related charges.
