The Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, The Honourable Janice C. Filmon, C.M., O.M., visited Elmdale school on February 5, 2020, where she read to a class of grade four students for “I Love to Read” month.
Her Honour read from the children’s book “Meet Viola Desmond.”
The Lieutenant Governor also presented the Metis Education Kit to Principal Vince Hiebert and grade four teacher Bethany Drewlo. Teresa Byrne of the Louis Riel Institute also attended the event and participated in the presentation.
