Island Lake RCMP are asking the public for any information into the whereabouts of a missing Garden Hill man, 30-year-old Wesley Wood.

On November 3, 2020, at approximately 1:30pm, Island Lake RCMP received a report stating that Wesley Wood, from Garden Hill First Nation, was missing.

Police say that Wesley was last seen on October 31, 2020, between 7am and 8am, walking towards the school units on a trail. At the time, he was wearing a black toque, two black sweaters and baggy pants.

Wood is not known to be out of touch with friends and family. At the time he was last seen, there was a snowstorm in Garden Hill. Police are concerned for his safety as he was not dressed for the elements.

Update

On November 8, 2020, at approximately 7:20 pm, local searchers located Wesley Wood deceased in a wooded area of Garden Hill First Nation. The death does not appear to be suspicious. The investigation continues with the assistance of RCMP Major Crime Services.
