A 75-year-old man has recently drowned after falling into the Boyne River at a location in the Rural Municipality of Dufferin, Manitoba.

On November 7, 2020, at 1:45pm, Carman RCMP received a report of a possible drowning on the Boyne River, located on a rural property off of Provincial Road 245, in the RM of Dufferin.

Police say that it was reported that a 75-year-old man was believed to have accidentally fallen into the river behind his home.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes and were advised that the Carman Fire Department had just removed the man from the water. Medical assistance was provided but the man was pronounced deceased on scene.

Carman RCMP along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate this incident.
