Flin Flon RCMP are reporting that three male suspects were arrested and charged in connection to a recent kidnapping incident that occurred in the community.
On February 17, 2026, at 11:40pm, Flin Flon RCMP responded to a report of a possible assault that occurred at a location on Main Street in Flin Flon. Information was then provided to police that a 57-year-old male, from Flin Flon, had arrived at this location with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation determined that the male was awakened earlier by two of his roommates who began to assault him and rob him of his property. He was then forced from this residence by the two roommates and taken to a home on Church Street where a third suspect became involved. The victim was assaulted at both locations.
Police say that the victim was eventually able to leave the residence on Church Street and make his way to the Main Street address where police were contacted. From this location, the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers then responded to the victim’s residence where the initial assault and robbery took place. As the officers entered the home, the three suspects were observed inside, along with three other females, and were arrested without incident.
RCMP report that 56-year-old Gary Gaudet of Nipawin, SK, along with 45-year-old Keith Saam and 34-year-old Darren Smith of Flin Flon, were all charged with kidnapping, robbery, uttering threats and assault. All three accused were remanded into custody.
