Following a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) investigation, on March 18, 2026, Sahil Aziz, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was sentenced to two-years in prison after pleading guilty to numerous charges in Manitoba Provincial Court.

The Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU) have recently arrested 24 violent and prolific offenders in four northern Manitoba communities.

The City of Steinbach has announced that temporary spring roadway weight restrictions will begin on March 25, 2026 at 6am. Spring road weight restrictions are placed on all streets to avoid damage during the spring thaw period.
