The Director of Risk Management with HAMS Marketing Services is advising Canadian pork producers to consider grain prices as they make forward contracting decisions for the fall and winter months.

The Manitoba government is seeking feedback from Manitobans on the first steps that can be taken to ease public health restrictions while continuing to balance the needs of the health-care system.

However, one case has been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 220 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 52,751.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 11.5 per cent provincially and 12.7 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on June 5, 2021, 276 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, six cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 270 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 52,531.

The Manitoba government continues to respond to those who violate public health orders and reminds everyone that enforcement officials will be out in full force this weekend to ensure Manitobans are protected at this critical time.

Eligibility for second doses has been expanded to include individuals who received their first dose on or before April 25. Manitobans are strongly reminded that only those eligible to book appointments based on the date of their first dose or other provincial criteria should book second-dose appointments at this time.

The Manitoba Wildfire Service advises that due to continued dry conditions and predicted hot weather, burning permits will only be issued to essential burning, for rural municipalities, industrial operations and agriculture. All other burning permits will be restricted immediately in southern Manitoba.

However, five cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 355 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 51,935.

Eligibility for second doses has been expanded to include individuals who received their first dose on or before April 20. Additionally, all Indigenous people in Manitoba and individuals with specific health conditions are also eligible to book their second dose, as long as they meet the minimum time interval between doses.
