A new Police Services Act introduced by Attorney General Dave Chomiak would modernize police governance in the province including how major incidents involving police officers are investigated.

Healthy Living Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross and Education, Citizenship and Youth Minister Peter Bjornson today unveiled a new youth-helping-youth healthy-living project for 20 Manitoba schools, part of a $310,000 provincial commitment for three new initiatives to ensure more Manitobans have the opportunity to build healthy living into their daily lives.

The province is building on Manitoba’s first-of-its-kind physician assistant master’s program with legislation that would make physician assistant students associate members of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, ensuring the students are governed by the college’s high standards for medical professionalism, Health Minister Theresa Oswald said.
