Obituary

Peter Elkiw, age 79, born February 5, 1938, at Pansy, MB, passed away August 3, 2017, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

He is survived by his sons Corey (Aaren), Maurice (Jacqueline), daughter Ashley (Jack), and the mother of his children, Elma; grandchildren: Cassidy, Damon, and Brady, several nieces and nephews, and sisters Emelie Kraynyk and Mary Toffan.

He was predeceased by his parents Wasyl (Bill) and Sophie (nee Swynar), sister Ann Verestiuk, and brothers-in-law Peter, Nick, and Andrew.

Dad enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing with his children, gardening and cutting his four acres of grass. Dad had many medical struggles and later was diagnosed with cancer of the lungs.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with viewing prior to the service. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Sarto, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.
