Obituary

Ben Neufeld, age 84, of Steinbach, MB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.

He is survived by: his wife Katherine (Kathy) of 64 years and their children: Walter (Nancy), Rod (Tammy), Gerald (Meike), Bob, Val (Vern), Joyce (Tim), Jeff (Carol), Charity (Bill), Carolyn (Corey), Rick (Heather), Sharon (Lance), Sheldon (Peggy), three sisters and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dad was predeceased by: his parents Cornelius and Anna Neufeld; step-father Bernhard Hildebrand; six brothers; one sister and two sons: Marvin, and Vern.

He worked hard his whole life doing chimney sweeping day and night. He also worked as a delivery driver and managed a chicken catching crew, which was at one point or another mainly made up of their children and a few others. After his retirement, his life revolved around his wife, family and church.

Viewing will be held on August 16, 2017 at 7:00pm at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB.

Celebration of life will be held on August 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with a viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow at Heritage Cemetery on Loewen Blvd., Steinbach MB.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to assist family with funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank his health care workers as well as his care workers at the Health Sciences Centre.
