Obituary

Duane Schultz passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the age of 56.

He is survived by his wife Marina and daughters Kelsey (Jody Gregorash), granddaughter Kenzie; and Jodi (Reed McDonald). He is also survived by his mother Joan Schultz, sisters Sandra (Larry Sawatzky), Yvonne (Ron Neufeld), Sherry (Darren Blohm), his brothers-in-law John and Peter Friesen; sisters-in-law Hilda (Abe Doerksen), Alvira (Peter Fehr), Agnes Friesen, Ellen (Bob Toews), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Duane was predeceased by his father Raymon Schultz, grandparents Art & Emilie Schultz, Leonard & Ida Thompson, his father and mother-in-law Peter & Maria Friesen.

Duane was a homebody. He loved to “play tractor”, bonfires and RZR rides with friends and family. His family was always his number one priority. We never knew the true meaning behind the term “after a courageous battle with cancer” until we seen the strength he showed going through this with him. Duane showed incredible courage and was always positive. Whenever anyone asked how he was doing he always replied, “it’s all good” and gave a thumbs up.

Duane had a kind and generous soul that touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A big thank-you to CancerCare in Steinbach and Dr. Krahn which Duane always spoke highly of. The family would also like to thank all those who supported them during this difficult time and for all the prayers, food and visits, they were very much appreciated.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach, MB with interment held at a later date.
